The first landings took place today! And we are delighted to see visitors from far and near finally able to experience the UNESCO World Heritage wonder of Skellig Michael once again.

Thank you so much for all your support! Signing the petition, supporting and sharing it has helped us bring a lot of media and political attention to the issue. It could easily have taken a lot longer to resolve without the work we’ve done together.

But while the landings are back, the impact of the delay cannot be overlooked.

We’ve lost a full month of a very short season, along with over €1 million in income for our local economy. The damage to trust and reputation has been deeply felt.

Important questions still remain:

▪️Will the OPW learn from this?

▫️Will they now engage openly and transparently with the boatmen and the community?

▪️What safeguards are in place to ensure this never happens again?

▫️Who will be held accountable for what was an entirely avoidable disruption?

We won’t stop asking the questions! Please keep up to date with all that’s going on in this incredible part of the world by following us on:

Skellig Michael is more than a destination—it’s a vital part of our cultural and economic life. Let’s make sure this never happens again.
