Grant Kalymnians in Northern Territory Membership to the Kalymnian Brotherhood Darwin

The issue

I am a proud resident of Darwin, of Kalymnian descent. However, my cultural identity and heritage are being undermined by the very organization that is supposed to uphold it - The Kalymnian Brotherhood Committee. This committee has been denying us, the residents of Darwin and greater Northern Territory of Kalymnian descent, membership.

The denial is not only an affront to our cultural identity but also deprives us of a sense of belonging and community. We are part of the estimated 7000 Kalymnians who identify as Kalymnian. Our voices matter and we deserve representation within this brotherhood.

We urge The Kalymnian Brotherhood Committee to reconsider their stance on this issue. By granting us membership, they will be fostering unity among all people with Kalymnian ancestry living in Australia's Northern Territory while preserving our rich cultural heritage.

We call upon all those who believe in equality and respect for cultural diversity to support this cause. Please sign this petition urging the the Kalymnian Brotherhood Committee to grant membership rights to all residents with a shared lineage in the Northern Territory and Honourable Ministers Eva Lawler and the relevant department to intervene and appoint a statutory manager for the purpose of overseeing membership applications and holding a new election to duly elect a Committee for the Brotherhood in accordance with the Constitution.

The Kalymnian Brotherhood Committee to grant membership rights to all residents with a shared lineage in the Northern Territory.
