Grant Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) for People Living in the UK for More Than 5 Years

Grant Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) for People Living in the UK for More Than 5 Years
The Issue
Every individual deserves respect, validation, and the right to live peacefully. Unfortunately, many undocumented people living in the UK for over five years live in constant fear. They feel isolated and vulnerable to exploitation and discrimination. The right to share their experiences is often limited, facing criticism instead of understanding.
According to the Migration Observatory at the University of Oxford, around 674,000 individuals are estimated to have lived in the UK long term without immigration status between 2017 and 2018. These individuals, like our families and friends, deserve to live without fear of discrimination.
By granting Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) to people who have resided in the UK for over five years, we offer them an opportunity to lead a fuller and more secure life that they can plan for themselves and their families. This step will not only benefit them individually, but it will also contribute socio-economically by letting them legally work, pay taxes, and participate more actively in the community.
It is time to bring about a change that has deep roots in empathy and humanity. Let us stand up for the rights of our fellow people who are equal in dignity and rights. We urge the UK government to regularize the status of residents who have lived here for over five years, providing them with an avenue for stability, security, and a recognized identity in the country they call home.
Please sign this petition and join us in pressing for this reform in the immigration policy. Let's make a difference, one signature at a time.
