Update: A New Chapter in Joe’s Journey — We Are Pursuing Clemency

Friends and supporters,
Because of you, Joe’s story has been seen, heard, and carried further than we ever could have imagined. Your signatures, your prayers, and your belief in him have meant everything.
Today, we want to share an important update.
After more than 30 years of incarceration, we are now officially pursuing clemency for Joe D. Martin, Jr.—specifically, a commutation of his sentence to time served.
This marks a strategic shift in our efforts. While the past will always matter, clemency allows decision-makers to focus on who Joe is today: a man who has spent decades growing, reflecting, strengthening his faith, and preparing himself to return home as a positive force in his family and community.
Clemency is about mercy. It is about recognizing transformation. It is about acknowledging that after 30 years, continued incarceration no longer serves justice in the way it once intended.
Joe has missed birthdays, holidays, and irreplaceable moments with the people he loves. But he has not lost hope—and neither have we.
Now, we need your voice more than ever.
