Hi everyone

Sorry it has been a while since I last posted an update, life has been very hectic.

To date there have been 241,854 people have signed this petition, and they continue to sign.  Of the 241,854 signatures - there are 234,491 signatures from the UK.

I have been liaising in the background with MP's and the House of Commons Petitions Committee.

I didn't post this petition on the Official Government Petition website as when you post on there the petition needs to be reviewed and approved before it is put up for public signatures and on the morning that I made the decision to do something and draft a petition I just wanted to do it then and there!

It was Mothers Day, the story of Ruth's death had made me very sad, and the significance of it being Mother's Day hit me hard and I wanted to do something, NOW!.  I have signed many, many petitions on this platform, it has a high profile and good Google presence, so I just logged into the account that I had already and drafted the petition from the heart.  Never in a million years could I have imagined that it would take off in the way that it did, that was truly scary, but I appreciate every single one of you not only taking the time to sign but putting your head above the parapet and saying enough is enough, and I thank you for that.  However, this has left me feeling a great deal of responsibility for this petition and trying to do something about it but also it does mean that there is no automatic route to the petition being debated by the Petitions Committee.

The Petitions Committee state that as the petition isn't on their website they won't automatically debate it, one of their stated reasons is that on the official website you need to confirm if you are living in the UK.  I continue to email them and in my latest installment I have sent them a list of the signatories (NAMES removed for privacy) but filtered to show that Change.org does indeed ask people to confirm what their location is and have sent them the list of places and dates of signatures, there are there are 234,491 signatures from the UK as at today's date.

If anyone would like to email them to ask them to reconsider their decision to not debate the petition, then the contact email address is: petitionscommittee@parliament.uk

You can also lobby your own local MP and ask them to request that this Petition is debated.

I also continue to email, Gillian Keegan, Amanda Spielman, Ofsted Southern Regional Office and other Members of Parliament.

Thank you all again!

Take care
