Two options for Roanoke's Fire Station No. 7 will be revealed on Monday, 8.6 at 2 PM in the Roanoke City Council Chambers. One destroys this landmark. The other saves it, adding new sections. While the time of day is tricky, the station's future will likely be decided. If you're local, please take a late lunch; line up a sitter; or even better, bring your kids so they can see their government in action.
Not in the Roanoke area? You can still help. Please use our template to email city leaders. It's quick, easy, and tells them that people like you visit Roanoke because of historic buildings: http://therevivalist.info/firestation7
Together, we will show the council that historic buildings are more than “structures.” They’re part of our heritage and economic assets. They help make Roanoke the kind of place people want to live, work, and play. And, starting with Fire Station No. 7, they must be saved!
