The data are conclusive and terrible: 272 plants, 16 mammals, 14 grogs, 9 birds, 7 reptiles, 4 insects, 4 fish and a spider are at risk of disappearing. This has been stated by the Australian Ministry of the Environment in a document collected by the Guardian. Of the 327 protected species, 31 are "critically endangered", another 110 "endangered" and 186 are in a "vulnerable" situation.
