Dear all

On Monday 12 October at 7.35pm, BBC's Panorama will broadcast their "Belly Mujinga: Searching for the truth" programme.

The Panorama link is - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000nh49

Please watch the programme and, where relevant, please let us have your observations and feedback on the programme here, or by email to, enquiries@equaljustice.co.uk or by direct message to @LDaviesEJ (twitter) or by messaging me at www.linkedin.com/in/lawrence-davies/llm

If you are communicating information about the identity of the white male who assaulted Belly and her colleague, this can be sent direct to my email address at lawrencedavies@equaljustice.co.uk

Prior to that broadcast I am to view the CCTV evidence, and witness the assaults on Belly and her female colleague (M) by the, still as yet unnamed, white male suspect. Lusamba has viewed the footage previously.  I know what to expect, but it still seems daunting, and slightly surreal. However, it will take us a step closer to the truth.

Viewing that footage and discussing it later this week with Lusamba and with the only eye witness to witness both assaults on Belly will represent the end of the beginning of our own investigation into what happened to Belly.

I have to say that it has been a shocking and, at times, harrowing journey.

It was also heart-breaking recently to hear Lusamba relate how it felt for Belly to be absent from the first birthday party of their daughter since Belly died.

We must root out the truth, make the wrongdoers accountable and achieve justice for Belly's family. In that regard, I can report that we are edging closer to identifying the white male accused of assaulting Belly and M, and we are grateful for your ongoing support.

Be well.

Lawrence Davies
