Hi,

Firstly I just want to thank everyone who signed and shared this petition. When I first started it after hearing Belly's story I could have never anticipated that it would reach so far, garner so much attention and generate such much-needed conversation. Although it is a small step, it feels like Belly and many other individuals working in transportation tirelessly during this pandemic are finally getting the recognition they wholeheartedly deserve. I am beyond happy most importantly though that I am not alone in recognising that there are still serious changes that need to be implemented.

Yesterday British Transport Police released a formal public statement regarding the situation (13th May 2020 at 15:57) across all of their social channels. As a result of a formalised report being finally placed with British Transport Police a full scale investigation has begun into her death. I will attach the statement below where further details are available.

I know this is a small development and we cannot know for definite if this petition helped bring awareness to what happened to Belly but every signature and share means so so much. In a time of such uncertainty showing solidarity like this is so important, especially when an injustice like this has occurred, once again I stress this cannot go unnoticed.
