HEY EVERYONE! PLEASE SHARE THIS!!!!!
JANE VALEZ MITCHELL will be interviewing SHEILA BOLIN from the Regal Swan Foundation and a some people from the Greenwood Lake Commission in New Jersey today, 09/03/2020, at noon Eastern Time USA. https://www.facebook.com/JaneVelezMitchell
A group of us were notified by a resident, who lives on Greenwood Lake about jet skiers running over and harassing a family of 8 swans and no one doing anything to help them. In fact, the Commission of the lake decided to call the USDA in to assess the situation. They have basically given these swans a DEATH SENTENCE by calling the USDA. Paul Zarriilo, one of the commissioners, told Joyce, from Greenwood Lake, "humans before animals", even though the humans are causing the problems. Paul has recently stepped down and now Eric Pain has taken over.
We in Michigan are having the same problems on our lakes. I know for a fact that Woodhull Lake in Waterford / Clarkston and Bennett Lake in Linden are two that I have personally heard about people killing swans with their jet skis.
I hope with this interview today, that Sheila Bolin will get the whole truth about the swan slaughter finally out to the public and that people will pay attention to the fact that our government is killing swans with our tax dollars . Sheila knows everything there is to know about this issue. The interview will be live on Jane Velez's Facebook Page. https://www.facebook.com/JaneVelezMitchell
In the mean time, Please take a couple minutes to write Eric Pain (info below) and tell him not to kill these swans. Those that you that are dealing with problem here in Michigan, give him ideas of how you are trying to stop the jet skiers. with air horns, etc. These swans should not have to die because of a few asshole humans. When I spoke with Paul Zarrillo, he suggested people contact the police in this area (The number of the west Milford police is 973-738-7802) and tell them to start ticketing the jet skiers. The police say they don't have the manpower, but they should be the ones responsible for stopping the illegal happenings on the lake.
LET'S GET THIS STOPPED!
Thanks !
Karen
