Christian Reichert, was sentenced to 23 years for a first time marijuana offense. Christian Reichert has already served nearly 4 years of his 22 year sentence. The hardest part is the fact that he was set up. This is a young man who has just started his adult life and own career... as a caring person and uncle he was in town for a few weeks to visit his nephew who was undergoing medical surgery. During this time Christian sadly got mixed up with the wrong crowd and taken advantage of.

Anyone who knows Christian can attest to the fact that he is a kind person and good guy.... his biggest error was that he was young and naive in this case. To reiterate.

Christian Reichert was convicted of trafficking and conspiracy to distribute.

1. It was not his marijuana. He was a passenger in a friends vehicle, who it belonged to.

2. There was absolutely NO evidence of Christian distributing/dealing pot presented at his trial. That's where the "conspiracy" charge comes in. Since he was a passenger in the vehicle that brought the pot into the state, the law considers him part of the conspiracy. But, there was plenty of evidence presented during HIS trial of others in the conspiracy dealing drugs. There was a flow chart of dealers presented as evidence, from the top person all the way down to the lowest/newest person. This flow chart was created by a member of the conspiracy and Christian's name was NOT listed.

Christian was a 24 year old, naive young man when this incident occurred. NONE of his decisions effected anyone other than himself. He WAS NOT involved in any kind of violence, he DID NOT distribute, had ZERO offenses prior to this.
As a near 30 year old man today, he still has his whole life ahead of him and would love the opportunity to contribute to society in a positive way. 

Also worth noting that Christian made NO money from this (where as the others made thousands of dollars because they had been distributing for several years). Christian was the only one whose case was tried separate from the others. He was tried first and after his conviction all the others plead out. He has learned the hard lessons and has done the hard time and just wants a second chance at life since he feels he has so much to offer society. We are asking for any and all help to have Christian’s case considered for clemency or pardon.  Thank you for your consideration.
