Dear All,

I have been continuously saying that child sexual abuse (CSA) is not alien to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The recent incident of a father having allegedly raped his daughter repeatedly sent shivers down everyones spine.

In fact,  a number of studies conducted on CSA across the world show that in more than 90% of the cases, the perpetrator is known to the victim.

We must acknowledge this problem and work towards raising awareness about this issue. Ignorance and deliberate denial is what makes our children suffer from time to time.

Please sign my petition and help me in ensuring that ‘Personal Safety Education’ is formally introduced in all our schools. Our children deserve to know what to do in case they find themselves in such a situation.
