• Up until April 7th 178 family owned liquor stores were considered an essential business to New Mexico and have been forced to close. This action did nothing to curb the demand for alcohol, it just forced the consumers to funnel into large big box national grocery and convenience stores. Now those stores are inundated with more people that just want to purchase alcohol. We are not allowed to deliver or have curbside service or even reopen drive up windows which should be considered.

We are hoping with enough signatures from concerned citizens of New Mexico that we can convince our Governor that we are essential to all of our customers.  Most of us sell water, jerky and other snacks that are essential for people. Also most liquor stores had already implemented reducing  occupancy levels as well as reducing store hours.  We also put up signage and put tape on flooring of where people were to wait in line and make customers aware of social distancing while shopping.
