This petition is for Justice. On July 19th 2021 my daughter Promis Samantha Ekken Merryman was murdered by her then abusive controlling manipulating boyfreind.  Kenneth Daniel Smith tried two times prior to the 19th to kill her. One time he took her to a secluded wooded area after drugging her but she fought it and was able to survive. EMS never called the police even though she was so incoherent she couldn't sign her name legibly and after Kenneth Daniel Smith spoke to her alone they let him take her away alone. Just one week later she was dead. Kenneth Daniel Smith has bragged about his connections with not only the Spartanburg Sheriffs dept but it has been proven he has connections with Spartanburg regional hospital where his mother is the head of the human resource dept and his sister is an rn at night. My daughter was leaving this creep for all the red flags that were coming up daily, unfortunately that never happened as she was murdered by him. She was going to get the rest of her stuff and come home to go camping with us for her brother's birthday.  She never made it home.
