Not only did Deja Armstrong break his ribs and either attempted to suffocate him or shook him so violent that he ceased breathing, but while he was in the hospital, she removed his breathing tube, which further deprived AJ of oxygen to his brain and led to his diminished quality of life. Her despicable action at the hospital also demonstrates premeditation; despite her age, she knew what she was doing and she was making conscious efforts then and there, in the hospital, to take her baby’s life. 

*Clarification: AJ Stacey’s ribs had been broken weeks prior to the abuse that landed him in the hospital. Deja Armstrong did not disconnect his life support until a month into his recovery at the hospital, which definitely demonstrates premeditation.
