Two Honolulu Medicare For All events this weekend!
Canvas for MFA Saturday May 20 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
at Down To Earth grocery store on King St. by University Ave.
House Party for Single Payer May 21, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
hosted by the new president of PNHP, Dr. Phil Verhoef
RSVP for the Canvas here: Canvas for Medicare For All this weekend!
At the canvas MFA signs are provided or you’re welcome to make your own. This is an ideal location for collecting signatures because the public sidewalk is adjacent a busy grocery store’s entrance. With signs and petitions we’ll:
1. Request people sign the “pass MFA petition”
2. We’ll increase the amount of people willing to request personal meetings with Senators Schatz and Hirono, and Reps Case and Tokuda.
At these meetings we can ask them to do more than just sign the MFA bill. Schatz and Hirono sign every MFA bill and then never mention it. We need them to actively promote public understanding of how powerfully beneficial Universal Single Payer Healthcare will be. If enough of us keep getting meetings with them, perhaps they’ll come around to hosting single payer town halls.
and we can apply pressure locally as well, for the HHA.
Canvassing creates campaigners!
