The senate has moved SB 134 through to the house which would preempt pet store bans in all of our cities and make them unenforceable. Petland tried to pass this legislation in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and West Virginia and it did not pass. I believe that Indiana won’t fall prey to Petlands legislation but SB 134 is making cities wary of passing ordinances. Marion county/Indianapolis just passed their ban last night despite SB 134 which is a huge win for Indiana! Please keep fighting and supporting and ask council members in cities with Petland to consider a ban. Every Petland in every state is funding this legislation. They have lawyers and lobbyists that are being paid by the sale of their puppies. Please make people aware of what is going on. If you live in Indiana call and email House Representatives and ask them to vote no on SB 134. Tell them you oppose it. If you don’t live in Indiana support us by stopping the Petland near you!
