Governor DeSantis, Please Ban All Dangerous Chemicals in Florida’s Food, Water and Air

Governor DeSantis, Please Ban All Dangerous Chemicals in Florida’s Food, Water and Air
The Issue
Dear Governor Ron DeSantis,
We, the undersigned residents and visitors of Florida, sincerely appreciate your steadfast commitment to safeguarding the freedoms and well-being of our state. Your efforts have significantly contributed to the prosperity of the Sunshine State. However, we wish to draw your attention to an issue of growing concern: the increasing number of chemicals, Floridians and it’s visitors are exposed to on a daily basis.
It has come to our attention that a significant portion of this issue may be attributed to the dispersal of chemicals from airplanes, commonly referred to as "chemtrails." This phenomenon is not isolated to Florida; it is a global issue, visible in numerous countries and widely documented in photographs and reports. For decades, many have voiced concerns about the potential health risks posed by these aerial chemical dispersals only to be disregarded as conspiracy theorist.
Recently, The media has finally started covering this issue and several states have introduced legislation to ban the dispersal of such chemicals from airplanes, citing potential health hazards and environmental impacts. Florida, known for its leadership and innovation, has an opportunity to join these states in protecting the health and well-being of its residents by addressing this issue.
Furthermore, we are deeply concerned about the concept of "sun shading"—the practice of dispersing chemicals to reflect sunlight as a means of combating climate change. While proponents argue it could mitigate climate change, the potential risks of introducing untested chemicals into the atmosphere are alarming. This practice not only affects our environment but also poses potential health risks, especially to us and our children who breathe in these substances daily.
In addition to the aforementioned issues, the broader matter of harmful chemicals in our environment and food supply warrants urgent attention. The presence of toxic chemicals, heavy metals, (PFSA) forever plastics, antibiotics, growth hormones, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and bio engineered food or ingredients in our food, water, packaging and supply chains is surprisingly alarming, especially when you start looking into what is allowed in products marketed towards children and babies which poses significant health risks. It is imperative that we take immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of Floridians by banning these substances.
Given these concerns, we respectfully request the following actions:
- **Legislation to Ban Aerial Chemical Dispersals**: Urge the introduction of bills to ban the dispersal of any chemicals from airplanes over Florida. This will protect our environment and the health of our residents, setting a precedent for other states to follow.
2. **Prohibition of Harmful Chemicals in Food and Water Supplies**: Advocate for comprehensive legislation to ban the use of harmful chemicals, heavy metals, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), microplastics, dangerous antibiotics, and growth hormones in livestock. Additionally, seek to eliminate carcinogenic chemicals used as food colorings or dyes, bioengineered food, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) from the food supply.
Furthermore, fluoride, a byproduct of the fertilizer, aluminum, and nuclear industries, is currently allowed in our water supply and many household products, particularly dental products. While fluoride has historically been promoted for dental health, recent studies indicate that it can have severe long-term side effects, especially in children. We also request a ban on any harmful byproducts of the manufacturing industry from being used in consumer products, or the food and water supply.
Additionally, there are concerning practices in the food industry, such as the use of pink slime, meat glues and thickening agents, which the food industry can use to combine scrap pieces of meat into products that appear to be whole steaks or other meat products. These contaminants pose significant health risks to Florida's residents and visitors, not to mention the unknown long-term environmental impacts.
By enacting such legislation, Florida can lead the nation in prioritizing public health and environmental safety.
Governor DeSantis, with the upcoming election, you have a unique opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by championing these critical issues. Your leadership in this endeavor will not only benefit the residents of Florida but also set a powerful example for the entire country.
We trust in your commitment to the well-being of our state and its residents and look forward to your support in these crucial matters.
Sincerely,
The residents and visitors of the state of Florida
