Today, Friday 4th March 2022, friend and former British Airways Cabin Crew colleague Carol Ng returned to court in Hong Kong for a further bail hearing.
Sadly, the news was not what we had hoped for - Carol's case has been adjourned again until 28th April 2022. The reason given was due to the covid pandemic in Hong Kong, 12 of the accused could not attend court today.
It has now been just over a year since Carol and 46 other Activists were detained charged with subverting the power of the state. The has had a devastating effect on them all and given the outcome today, only adds further pressure to an already extremely stressful situation.
Once again, I'm calling on the organisations mentioned in this petition and you, Carol's friends, colleagues and the public, to continue supporting our campaign to bring Carol home. Please don't think for a minute this couldn't happen to any of you. I would urge you all to familiarise yourselves with the Police, Crime and Sentencing Courts Bill which is a sweeping attack on everyone's rights to protest, picket and assemble and clearly shows we in the UK are fast heading down the same road as Hong Kong.
Thank you
