We are trying to keep the former Bowater lands open for complete public access. Currently there are huge areas of these lands slated to be shut down for access in the very near future. This shut down will only allow access via walking, kayaking or canoeing. Due to the shut down this will impact the local economy due to lack of tourism caused by not being allowed the freedom to explore these forests and lakes with no restrictions. We are not saying that these forests cannot be managed but completely shutting them down is not the best solution! By signing this petition your voice will be heard by the province of Nova Scotia and hopefully stop this land from becoming inaccessible to our future generations that enjoy camping and using the many roads and trails for access to people with or without a disability that would in other means not allow them to enjoy these lands. Our tax dollars paid to purchase the former Bowater lands so everyone in Nova Scotia needs to have a Say!
