No long-winded justification ought to be necessary. This just makes sense. All legitimate entertainment outlets in the country have paid their license fees for 2020 despite the government and local councils disallowing entertainment (understandably) due to COVID-19.

The government has a responsibility to reimburse the money they have taken from us for, as it turns out, no reason whatsoever.

As things stand now, we have no idea if entertainment will even make a comeback in 2021. The least the government can do – the right thing to do – is to waive the license fees (RM4705) and tax (RM3600) for 2021, so that the currently dormant entertainment outlets don’t suffer any more than we already do, and so that we can keep whatever little resources we have, to persevere and survive somehow until things go back to some semblance of normalcy.
