DAY 22/30 | 11,004 Have Signed! 3,996 To Go With Your Help!
Hi Friends,
Thanks to your ongoing support we now have only 3,996 signatures to go, to achieve our 15,000 signatures by Monday April, 8th, 2019 goal.
Can the 11,004 of us who have already signed our "Government of Jamaica, Increase the Subvention to the University of Technology, Jamaica, Commensurate with Need" petition, generate 3,996 new signatures in time?
I think so.
Strictly speaking it wouldn't qualify as a miracle, because it is in fact possible.
It would qualify as us caring enough about #governance, #education #youthdevelopment #careeradvancement #tertiaryeducation and the #nationaldevelopment of Jamaica...though.
I hope the record will show that we ALL cared enough to meet the Government of Jamaica's petition requirements as stated on their Jamaica House Petition website. You may recall from a previous update, I initially submitted our petition to our Govt's Jamaica House Petition website on Ash Wed, 6th March, 2019. When no feedback came about our submission, on Saturday, 9th March, 2019, I submitted the petition to this International petition site Change. org, and they published it immediately.
"Get 15,000 Signatures
If you gather 15,000 signatures in 40 days, we’ll review your petition, and if it complies with agreed standards, the Office of the Prime Minister will issue an official response." - Jamaica House Petition Website.
While we can't guarantee that the Government of Jamaica will acknowledge and/or act on our petition, we can at least meet the standard they have set for consideration.
Together we can choose to keep sharing the petition electronically, and keep engaging persons we know and ask them to sign the petition.
11,000+ persons generating 3,996 new signatures in 8 days? #yeswecan
Hope we will.

P.S. LET'S MEET THE NEWLY ACKNOWLEDGED Outstanding Alumni Awardees 2019 of the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Jamaica). These Alumni were honoured this past week, in celebration of UTech, Jamaica's 60th Anniversary. Perhaps there's somebody in the list you recognize and wish to say "Congratulations!"
