To Whom it may concern,

The reason why I have started this petition is because I care about our people, us Gibraltarian's are suffering big time because the GHA's Primary care centre system isn't functioning properly. We have had enough of this!

Due to "Covid-19" our Primary Care Centre has been shut so we can only make appointments and spoken to by a doctor over the phone due to protection. This is scary as we can be misdiagnosed with the wrong thing. We find the whole phoning thing ridiculous because our PCC has window shields, masks etc to protect the staff and patients. 

Many of us do spend a lot of our time and money trying to call our PCC to get the medical care we need, when we call;

• - We either get cut off when we're first in line due to the credit being swallowed.
• - Some of us also don't get the chance to even speak because PCC staff hang up on us.  
• - Don't get the medical care we need because there aren't any doctors available not even emergency appointments.

Our HEALTH AND LIVES ARE AT STAKE, we're more likely to die from medical neglection than the Corona virus.. Some of us are having to go to pay a private doctor to get what we need as we can't get any appointments in the PCC, Some can afford to pay private doctors but there are some who can't afford to pay private doctors. I don't think this is fair on tax payers as they're paying insurance etc for a system that isn't functioning properly. 

On a daily basis I have seen plenty of people struggling to get their repeat prescriptions, many of our lives depend on medication. 

I will write down what our public thinks on how our Health Care system should be improved;

• *A faster repeat prescription service. Many people cannot survive without their medications. 
•  Free phone for healthcare it's costing all of us a fortune when most of the time it gets us no where nearer to medical advice. More staff are needed at reception to pick up phones. 
•  Applying to register for an E111/health is ridiculous. Having to provide so many documents (even for renewal) and everytime a new document seems to be  needed or is missing. This is making many people's lives impossible when applying especially when it comes to the older generation. Luckily some have family to help out but many struggle to apply online as some don't use or know how to use Internet. Some people are even getting restricted from seeing (or speaking to according to the new norm) doctors due to this, what happens if it's life threatening and they are contributors? Just because the system is a mess and isn't user friendly is it right to put people's lives at risk?  
• Extra protection/better control for all health workers that continuously go in and out of premises. 
• *MENTAL HEALTH! * - Mental health is something which we are hearing more and more of everyday. The system only seems to cater for those who are at the point where they can't cope anymore rather than helping those when it is something easier to deal with. If treated properly and early enough, in many cases, mental health could be helped with the correct counsellors/psychologists without putting people on medication which they will either need to be on for life (as coming off some medication is harder than dealing with the original mental disorder) or for a long period which in the long run could have side effects. There should be more options to deal with this as the waiting lists can be crazy which again many people end up having to go privately but those who can't afford it end up getting worse whilst they wait which is a catch 22. 
• Equipment for Cancer patients is needed many of us are having to travel back and forth to the UK for treatment etc as there isn't any in Gibraltar. Their lives are now more at risk due to covid-19 travelling isn't as safe as it used to be. 
• Audiologists are needed desperately.
• Follow up appointments and surgeries tests etc are never set up. People has had complications simply due to GHA's neglect.

Please do something really needs to be done about this, enough is enough! Please try and make everyone's lives easier including the GHA staff.
