Hej dog lover!
Thank you for supporting our PETITION to end dog tethering in Ontario, Canada.
Sylvia Jones, serving as Solicitor General, claims to have done a lot for animal welfare in her work since 2007. REALLY?! In Ontario, it is still alllowed to chain working dogs, sled dogs, farm dogs etc 24/7 outside with minimal shelter and care. Why should we accept this?
You can let her know what you think of this! https://sylviajonesmpp.ca/contact/ - a quick form to voice your support for all tethered/chained dogs, and demand much better laws and law enforcement! Any so called new laws under development are equally worse and no improvement for working dogs. It is unacceptable.
here’s what I wrote to her:
Dear Sylvia,
My 128.000 supporters and I want to let you know that we want to see dog chaining in Ontario abolished, no exemptions. So, for sled dogs, hunting and farm dogs and any other dog. We all signed here. The supporters are mainly from Canada.
Our petition is here:

We feel that your animal protection and welfare system, as well as the law enforcement and punishment, is totally obsolete and progress is far too minimal. In spite of scientific evidence about the suffering of chained dogs and the clear CVMA guidelines.
Please enter into this century and drastically update and improve animal welfare laws and law enforcement. It is urgent as the suffering must end now.
We all expect so much more from a country like Canada and are shocked at all the suffering we see a.o. in sled dog companies, and the lack of decisive and empathic action from the government. Stop protecting and enabling animal abusers.
Please act now.
Best regards,
Chantal Jonkergouw and 128.000 supporters
