Calling for the right for students to have access to headphones if needed to support their learning and wellbeing. 

Hello, I'd thought i'd spread the word about an arising problem that has affected me and many others.

I’ve been struggling with horrible hearing sensitivity for over a year. everyday is difficult for me, everyday i hear noise extremely heightened. my parents and i have had to fight for my basic human right to learn and thrive in a school environment. i'm already struggling with school and even with AirPods on noise cancellation with another pair of headphones sitting on top my ears, it is still extremely unbearable. since this ban has came for mobile phones, strangely enough headphones have been banned too. i am completely okay with the phone ban, but not the headphone ban. i’m highly against it and i know i'm not the only one. people who are neurodivergent/autistic need headphones to focus with white noise, music, and/or block out noise due to sensory sensitivity etc. even people who are neurotypical  need headphones to focus and it wont be "valid" since they don't have a legitimate diagnosis. we wont have the proper ability to keep learning in a school environment if its like this. And in extreme cases like mine, i cant go to school without wearing my headphones. i don't want to have to do that, i want to learn. schools are able to accommodate to peoples needs if they have a hearing aid, why not vice versa? this rule has been made and is expected that everyone is able to follow it. this is pure ableism and some people who are neurotypical don’t understand that a rule can’t always work for everyone, its small minded thinking and i demand for it to change. this is an act of disability discrimination. please sign this petition and share it to as many people as you can. this is the photos we were given in a slideshow:
