A letter to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

Greetings. We need your urgent help. You are aware that our rivers in Ghana have become worse than they've ever been. Most women in Galamsey endemic areas now use alum to 'clean' the highly polluted river water for their domestic and commercial use. So does Ghana Water Company which uses a highly powerful form of Alum, Polymer, in order to 'purify' the highly contaminated river system for our taps in the major cities like Takoradi, Cape Coast, Akim Abuakwa and Kumasi, among others.

Unfortunately, this does not remove the highly toxic mercury, cyanide or lead contained in it. Ghana's water and food system is now under grave threat from galamsey.
