Petition updateStop Galamsey devastation in Rural Ghana

Empowering our Traditional Leaders and our communities

As the extent of the devastation of #Galamsey and #Irresponsible #mining in #Ghana become apparent, the question has arisen as to what role our traditional leaders and our citizens in the communities can and have played in this.

The more pressing question is, until the politicians, many of whom are deeply involved in this environmental terrorism on our lands, rivers and forests decide to genuinely act, should our venerable leaders sit still and watch on helplessly? Going through the Small Scale mining procedure document, it is crystal clear that none of this is happening on their blind side. Therefore, I urge all of us in and from Ghana to share this excerpt with every chief and citizen in your communities. Let's give them the information they need so as not to feign ignorance and helplessness in the face of this existential threat we face as a nation.

Thanks in advance.
