What is wrong with calling for a stop to the destruction of rivers in Ghana?

Your guess is as good as mine. What is wrong with advocating for the stoppage of acts that are causing extreme devastation to rivers and the environment in Ghana, and destroying the lives and livelihoods of millions who depend on these rivers?
Look at #Tano. Check out #Pra, #Ankobra #Birim, #Offin and tell me that the #Galamsey and #irresponsible mining that is causing this sacrilege ought to continue. Sorry. It cannot. Ghana deserves a responsible mining regime. Ghanaians have every right to call for a halt to these destructive activities that destroy the country and our future generations. We have a right to clean water, a safe environment where children and adults alike can go outside without falling to their death in gullies of mercury filled waste water.
Do you know of a better way of doing alluvial mining that doesn't destroy the land and our water bodies? By all means let's hear it. If not, sorry. The gold is better off in the ground than taken in a manner that destroys entire populations. Please share our petition to get #Ghanaian authorities to act responsibly and transparently to end this sacrilege.
