Good morning,

I hope you all had a blessed holiday and will have an excellent 2023.

I am writing this mail as a reminder that we are still without a word from the Upper management about our demand to expand the Telecommute policy.

As you know, we worked throughout the pandemic remotely and successfully all the time, gaining the knowledge that we need a work-life balance. We lost many coworkers due to this horrible illness and know life is short. The pandemic is not magically over. With China removing most of its Covid restrictions, cases have skyrocketed, which will lead to more types of the virus spreading. Let's think logically and slow the spread, not add to it.

That is why we must continue to press Kathy Hochel and Janno to expand the Telecommute policy for all NYS workers.

Stop treating public transit and public workers as for profit. We provide a service to customers and need to be funded. In the meantime, the single most significant expense to the MTA and other state agencies is office space. They won't admit that People are not collaborating at the water cooler. They are sitting in their office's doors closed.

I urge you to please sign this petition and demand to your state ELECTED officials that we want this and need this.

This goes for all Union staff who should be allowed to for Work-life Balance.

As I get ready this morning to start my day, I dread that I have to leave my children in the care of others at a high cost, fill up my gas tank with the high gas prices to drive to an office in traffic, and stress that is empty primarily anyway to satisfy egos.

Thank you, and please sign, share, and contact your congressperson about this demand.
