Dissapointing News

Good morning family,
Sorry to take so long to write, but I had high hopes that with the MTA IT telecommute "Pilot" being extended two weeks ago, it would continue and make the model for the MTA at large. I was mistaken.
They received no reprieve. Today, all MTA IT staff are back to a full-time office. I have heard that several have submitted resignations this morning on top of the dozens of other seasoned staff who filed for retirement or found more progressive work environments from all agency divisions.
I have been assured that the MTA is still investigating hybrid permanent work situations. I am not hopeful. Speaking with people, I have heard frustration at the top of the slow progress to decide as our ranks are decimated.
Please share this Petition for all NY state employees to sign and let Gov. Hochul and MTA leaders know you want to create transparency about their preferences by sharing the information and discussing together, so employees recognize how your return-to-work strategy isn’t just a disguised plan of your own personal whims, but rather, a thoughtful approach that took multiple factors into consideration.
Between the high gas prices and crowded office space, please reinstate the telecommute policy as a NO COST TO TAXPAYER benefit.
This petition has over 1600 signatures!
Thank you and Be Safe.
