I have wonderful news to share. Three weeks ago Detective Brown from the Broome County Sheriff went out to Marjorie’s Kennel and removed 11 dogs, 8 Keeshonds and 3 American Eskimos. One week later he returned and got her to surrender 30 more dogs. Yes, 41 dogs are now Free (33 Kees and 8 American Eskimos). These dogs are now being medically vetted or on their way to foster homes across the country. The American Eskimos were rescued by Online Eskimo’s are being rehabbed in foster homes. You can reach out to them at www.eskiesonline.com/ The Kees rescued are for the most part in better shape than the ones freed earlier but they have stilled lived without socialization, easting food off broken concrete floors and living without protection from heat or cold. Many people have been involved in this latest phase of the rescue, providing medical care, bathing, grooming and transporting. 9 of the Kees are in foster care and 14 more are being transported this weekend. The rest need some medical procedures and will move to foster care soon. We ask your prayers and healing thoughts as these precious furbabies rehab and prepare for adoption. While this is amazing news and a cause for joy and celebration, the authorities have allowed her to keep some dogs (10-12) as “pets”. These dogs are not neutered, they are still living outside in the kennels and at least two are young puppies that she has offered for sale. While we greatly appreciate the help from law enforcement and the Broome County Cruelty officer last month, we continue to demand that all dogs be removed from her possession and her kennel be closed. We will not rest until THEY ARE ALL FREE. If you want to contribute to the care of the recently free you can contribute to Free the Kees through PayPal at Freethekees@gmail.com
