L'absence de réglementation adéquate pour assurer la sécurité des canadiens et canadiennes face au vol d'identité laisse ceux-ci à la merci des organisations criminelles et terroristes. Le gouvernement canadien devrait prendre les mesures pour mettre en place un système national de validation de l'identité des canadiens sécurisé et pourvu d'une protection universelle. Le fait de laisser ce champ sans contrôle et trop souvent basé sur le désuet Numéro d'assurance sociale cause à tous les canadiens un risque inacceptable

The lack of regulations regarding the protection of Canadians toward identity theft expose them to criminal and terrorist organization. The Canadian government must ensure the protection of Canadian implementing a national universal identity validation service combined with a universal.protection for the victims of this crime. The lack of laws leave this responsibility without control and too often will result in using the obsolete and unsafe Social Insurance number as an essential part of this which cause an unacceptable risk  for every Canadian
