Hey everyone,
I'm not sure if Google well ever fully respond to this issue the way they should. Here's the good news though, it's been reported on a few websites, including Android Police that if you report the problems with your phone to Google, they will send you a Pixel XL as a replacement. I did this today and it works. Taking a look at the comments, maybe not for everyone but it's worth a try.
Here's my situation if you want to compare. I bought by Nexus 6P from the Google Store (not BestBuy, Amazon, or through Huawei) December 2015. I got it in the beginning of January. The device itself is physically fine, aside from the battery issue. The questioned me about having a case which I told them I did. They also needed my IMEI number to verify a few things though they didn't tell me what. Then, they had me order a Pixel XL via a special link, which is on it's way now.
If any of you try it, please report back what they asked you and if it worked, to help others.
