Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated at the end of the month-long Roza (fasting) during the Muslim holy period of Ramzan. Eid is not just a time for revelries and feasts, but also an occasion to thank Allah (God) for all the blessings he has bestowed upon us. Further, in Islam, there is probably no better opportunity to make peace and reconcile with one’s adversaries than on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
On this auspicious day, Dear Signatories, we request you to forgive and forget and pledge to foster the spirit of peace, harmony and brotherhood. Also spread the word for Nonviolence by promoting our initiative #ChooseNonviolentDefence
As mentioned in our previous update, charity or zakat (one of the five pillars of Islam) is offered to the needy throughout Ramadan and also on Eid, as an opportunity to share our abundance with others. In this pandemic, as we celebrate Eid in the comfort of our homes, there are thousands who are homeless and hungry. This Eid, help Team Shanti Sahyog reach out to them by donating part of your zakat through this link, so that we can redirect it to our beneficiaries. https://shantisahyog.org/make-a-donation/
Come, let’s celebrate Eid together.
