Lohri, the Punjabi harvest festival celebrated on January 13 every year, is a celebration of the winter crop  and  remembrance of the Sun deity, ‘Surya’. Makar Sankranti, observed a day after Lohri is a festival that marks the end of the month with the winter solstice and beginning of longer days. 

Along with welcoming longer days and praying for better cropping season, let us also welcome a change in ourselves by  pledging to give the gift of love to future generations. We therefore request you – dear signatories - to follow our Call for Action petition #’s.
