Gluten-free and dairy-free products at Tim Hortons

The Issue

Suggestion for Tim Hortons: We are asking for gluten-free options, not as a trend, but as a critical health necessity for those with Celiac Disease and severe gluten intolerance. A true gluten-free option must be prepared with protocols that prevent cross-contamination—something that is difficult to guarantee with current Tim Hortons food preparation. While dairy-free milk allows a person to purchase a drink, it does not provide a safe or satisfying meal option. Those needing GF/DF options are often left with nothing but a coffee, which is simply not acceptable for a major Canadian food provider. Tim Hortons currently provides dairy-free drinks, which is appreciated, but this highlights a disparity: customers with milk allergies or lactose intolerance still cannot purchase food items like donuts, muffins, or baked goods safely. Offering only a beverage is treating us as second-class customers.

The demand is significant. The GF and DF communities, as well as the plant-based and vegan consumers, represent a massive, underserved market. Providing safe, high-quality, dedicated GF/DF food items is a business opportunity, not just a chore. To truly be an accessible and inclusive brand, Tim Hortons must offer both GF and DF food options. We want to be able to enjoy the full Tim's experience, not just the coffee. We appreciate the dairy-free drink options, but Tim Hortons, we need food too! For those with Celiac disease and severe milk allergies, a coffee is not a meal. We need dedicated, cross-contamination-free gluten-free baked goods and affordable, everyday dairy-free donuts and muffins to truly feel welcome and safe at your restaurants.

By signing this petition, hopefully, we can request that Tim Hortons make products both dairy-free and gluten-free.
