We are urging our supporters to get behind the North Kelvin Meadow and Childrens' Wood campaign petition for the Scottish Government to call-in and reject the planning consent for housing development at the West End site. As well as supporting the aims of their campaign there is a shared dimension to this. The North Kelvin Meadow site is proposed for development by the same developers (New City Vision Group) that own Govan Graving Docks. We believe that the intention is for profit from the North Kelvin development to be reinvested in a commercial redevelopment of Govan Graving Docks. So preventing the North Kelvin Meadow development from going ahead will potentially help our cause as well.
