Closure of Whitehill Swimming Pool
0 have signed. Let’s get to 5,000!
You may have heard or read in the local media recently about leaked proposals from Glasgow City Council regarding the closure of several leisure facilities, including Whitehill Pool, in order to make financial savings.
While these are only options at this stage Whitehill Swimming Club is anxious about the future of the pool and as such, the Club itself.
We urge you to make every effort to attend the Dennistoun Community Council Meeting on January 8th at 7pm in Dennistoun Library, 2A Craigpark, Dennistoun G31 2NA.
The three local councillors will be in attendance and this gives an ideal opportunity to share your thoughts on these proposals and also to display how vital Whitehill Swimming Club is, not just to local residents, but children and adults across the city.
If you are unable to attend this meeting please show your support for Whitehill Swimming Pool and the Club by contacting your local councillor regarding these proposals.
Whitehill Swimming Pool and the Club's future is entirely dependent on the premises remaining open and we need to ensure Glasgow City Council are aware of just how vital a resource Whitehill Pool is to the community and to citizens across the city. We currently have around 200 members and ask you all to use your voice to support the Club at this precarious time. We have been a community club since 1977 and we hope for many many years in the future.
We hope to see as many of you possible at the meeting next week and hope that all Club members will contact their councillor in support of Whitehill Swimming Club.
