During July 2023, we established a non-profit company, the Kya Sand Burning Wasteland Community Forum NPC, registration number 2023/858781/08.
Why do we need to raise funds?
It is very important that we can scientifically prove that the burning of waste is having a negative effect on the health of communities in the area. The main cost that we are currently facing is the first round of air-quality testing. The cost estimate for the first round of testing is R66 500.00 incl. VAT.
What will we not spend funds on?
There is no provision for any form of remuneration for the directors or officers of the company, they are all acting as volunteers.
We are not funding legal costs; our legal team are acting pro-bono.
How can you contribute?
We will be using GivenGain.com, a credible, global, online platform for fundraising for charities. This platform provides a secure payment processing system for donors to make single or recurring payments and provides for reporting.
