Yay!! We have well over 200,000 supporters. That is incredible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! :) I've been sharing the hell out of this thing, and I can see that you all have, too. We've been getting some great feedback on Twitter from animal rights activists and celebrities who are joining this fight against Ringling Bros. That kind of added support is vital in making our campaign louder. I've also seen more petitions urging Ringling Bros. to retire their elephants, which just means that the pressure is mounting against Feld Entertainment. About time!! I've also been contacted by ADI (Animal Defenders International), as well as a newspaper in Polk City, FL who are interested in what we're doing. I'm hoping for some much-needed media coverage to get our story out there, and I'll keep you informed once I hear more. With ADI, I am obtaining some information on what is being done for performance animals in terms of substantial legal coverage. This is a bit above and beyond our petition, but it's so needed!! ADI is working with congressmen and women to get a bill rolling to stop performance animals from being abused and used, once and for all. If you remember, TEAPA was a bill that was introduced but never quite made it off the ground. We're hoping to get more attention on that, as it's a necessary legal safety blanket, if you will, for all animals that are forced to perform. If you're not familiar with TEAPA, please Google it.
