The Issue

We the people, for the people, by the people have long since instituted this fine land, and that institution-pardon my interruption-has taken countless years to develop. We have strived for, worked for and towards a unified society built on foundations true to peace and liberty. Now we all feel good about killing birds with one stone, but there are some birds out there just beggin' to be shot. Not to offend all those who are against the slaughter of animals (birds included), but I like to take old sayings in stride. I also like to exercise my freedom of religion, and I'd like to thank God as well. Now for religion, that's another one entirely, I have my own personal stance, but I'll go ahead and get on with this petition. Now, a petition is plea of some sorts and I'm plea-ing with the people of this united country, now you have your left, your right, your red, your blue, and even through all that we are still Americans. As true Americans, we are growing, and will continue to grow with your help. Now, speak of the birds, and the birds will appear. We have a prison system that already well-known for draining our resources. I don't know much about resources as far as the economy goes, but I do know the ratio of guards to inmates is phenomenal. Now, I had something happen the other day. While I was at work, a man tried to jump over my fence out of nowhere. Anything could've happened, and I was told the dog was home, and helped drive him away. This could've happened to anybody. You have convicted felons fresh out of the penitentiary, now statistics have proven that 68% of convicted prisoners are arrested within the next 3 years, with the numbers rising to 79%,  within six years and 83% within 9 years. I don't know exactly how many of these prisoners are felons, but the numbers justify the means.  These are high odds we're talking about here, and these odds keep getting higher over time. Now I've been on Facebook, and for the most part all of us here are aware of Facebook, and if we aren't aware of Facebook, we're most likely sittin' in our living rooms keeping up with the news. In other words, we like to know what's going on. Speaking of living rooms, I think we all need some more time outside. Back in the day, kids used to run around the streets with whimsy, we didn't have much parental supervision, but our parents always had confidence that we were going to be OKAY. Now I'm from a small town, and in my small town, even for the early 2000s, kids were still running around like it was the 80s. Now you got the cities, the city people, the big crime, the big cheese, the big danger. You have convicted felons, most likely to repeat felons, running around out there. Now for the big kicker, we are currently in six wars right now. WHO IS GOING TO WATCH THE STREETS WHILE YOUR 18 year old, 19 year old, 20 year old, long extenuated pause for all the children and grandchildren out there may they hopefully not rest in peace or pieces, and we're talking KIDS people, they aren't even allowed to legally walk into most bars, and there's rumors circulating about these kids, fresh out of high school, enrolled in college if you got lucky, haha. Now to be serious for a second, or at least maybe a minute or two, on a more lighthearted note indeed, if a draft were to occur college students would not be exempt. Yes, your future quantum physicist, your future doctor, your future nurse, your future nature conservationist, your future electrical engineer, your future veterinarian (who could also be a vet in more ways than one, haha again) these are KIDS WITH THE BRIGHTEST FUTURES AND THEIR YOUNG LIVES ARE ALREADY BEING THREATENED TO BE SNUFFED OUT, another casualty of what we know as the unavoidable. The majority of these children haven't ever held a gun once in their lives, you can thank the second amendment for that, and they come from good homes. Now these homes are being threatened. War is looming. Death is all around us in so many ways. We are all going to die, but do our children and grandchildren, our brothers, nephews, their uncles, do they really need to be torn away from their futures, our futures to fight a war they didn't even ask to fight? ARE THERE ANY OTHER OPTIONS?! I may have one for you, but you might not like it. Felons. Convicted felons, this includes people who have driven under the influence and committed vehicular manslaughter, fight drinking and driving or at least discourage it. And I know there's some moms out there, and these moms are like "oh but I go to the bars and I drink a few drinks and I go home when I'm done and I have a babysitter" but no. These moms shouldn't be driving drunk. These moms shouldn't be driving intoxicated. These moms call themselves mothers and they're capable of killing someone else's child and I feel sorry for the day-drinkers but if you feel impassioned towards this kind of thing, I suggest you look into MADD, mothers against drunk driving. Now this ain't no speech, but this sure is a petition, and I implore you folks, implore you to take a good look around, and I want you to think about the people for whom you truly care. I know vehicular manslaughter isn't as looked down upon as SOME other things, however it's truly unfortunate, all these things that happen all around us. Some may even be happening right now outside this very room and I hope to the God above Gods it ain't so, and quite frankly I don't want to think about it. None of us do. How are we going to keep the streets safe? How are we going to give people more incentive not to commit acts of stupidity? How are we going to keep the young safe, most of whom still have yet to leave home, how are we going to change things? In this obtrusive world, there's a lot we have to consider. There's dangers running rampant on the street seemingly out of control. If you cannot take it anymore, if you want to make a difference, then please I implore you, let convicted felons be mandated into the military. Would you rather, and I hate you rathers, really, I do my best not to make them my thing, welcome to me at my worst, but would you rather keep your children safe, or help your local convicted felons as well? Wait, I said it wrong. Did I say it wrong? See, the thing is, and I've given it a lot of thinking, and these people, these felonious people, I like to think, I like to enjoy the concept of them actually feeling sorry for something, just like you, and I hope to God, just like me. What's a better way to make up for feeling sorry, to make up for being a burden to this society, a danger to this society, a broken piece of glass laying in the middle of sidewalk hoping it doesn't cut anyone, other than serving this country? And not only serving this country, but saving countless lives, oh goddanggitt and may the God above all God's with much respect to religion bless you as well. I'm asking you people, in this country for the people, by the people to consider a redemption shot. A redemption for those who are lost. Now, a lot of people say don't mix religion and don't mix politics when drinking, but how does are these two mixing here? Now this is serious stuff. You have felons running around in the street, and now a little girl's older brother could be sent off to war, while they're sittin high and dry, rotting away, wasting, wishing they could be something more and that child goes out into the street, and God forbid something happen to her while the person who's supposed to be protective is out protectin this country. Now, we all can do our part. With this ongoing petition, we have a cause. We have a chance to make things right. AND THIS CALLS FOR ALL FELONS. I like to think that people would be discouraged by this law, by this military law. Unfortunately, it seems as though judging by statistics, prisons aren't enough anymore to keep our streets clean, our neighborhoods filled with laughter without worry. Think of the cities littering this country, our country, and think of the average crime rate in those cities. I like to think that the people affected by it, and that goes for your stereotypical good, and your stereotypical bad, I like to think that EVERYONE WOULD BENEFIT. Here's to ones who feel guilty- I propose a clean slate instead of a jail sentence. I propose ten dollar an hour minimum for serving in the military as long as your prison sentence would be. Again, this would be mandatory. I also propose that the age for the felons draft to be limitless, as opposed to the current mandate of 18-25. If there are any building concerns, maybe we could reform the prison buildings into something else, maybe even homeless shelters, but this isn't about reforming the prison buildings it's about   I propose the college students keep going to college, and the people who already have messed up their lives and been nonetheless perhaps uncivilized beings, to have a chance to become a benefit to multitudes, a benefit to this country. For every life you've ended, think of the unknown that you would be saving. Think of how peaceful things would be, because look at the statistics, folks.

Facebook says kids don't play outside anymore.

Why not?

This country, these states, this system has been broken, and I'm sorry but I don't want this draft to be something else that's broken too. Maybe all the brokenness, maybe all the broken people with it, maybe this all can be fixed. I remember growing up as a child, the oldest of my little brothers at the time, I didn't know I had sisters, but I always wanted them. Anyways, my mom would let us play outside in our front yard, but she always wanted us more in the backyard, or only a little bit down the block because she was always worried about us being kidnapped, so we were in the backyard a lot. I always liked the front yard more, but I think it would be cool if a front yard could be like a backyard, fenced in and safe. Now in order for this to be a thing, some people have to be fenced out, and by some people I'm sorry to even acknowledged they're out there, I'm ashamed actually that stuff like this happens, but those who have been committed of atrocious acts would be best suited for the world of war as opposed to the college kids. I would like a street full of peace, with every character that's unsavory or has been unsavory to be out serving this country, our country. This is what I mean by two birds: one stone. Now, I'm going to level here in the worst possible degree. You don't want to go to prison, you don't want to hurt people, you want everyone to be okay deep down inside, but there's a lot of shit that keeps "holding you back", there's a lot to work through, and this right here, could be your mandatory chance and maybe even it could be an incentive to not go through with whatever thing you really don't want to do next. And  this is by the people, for the people, God I hope not, I hope everyone is okay, and I hope everyone is wanting to do better for themselves and the people around them, and I hope you see this as an opportunity and a blessing to do that. Please, don't die a meaningless worthless death. Now, war itself is pointless, and without peace there would be war, and without war there would be peace, but war is still happening, war is all around us, and this is the U. s. of a. and we are still being caught in it. I prefer for there to be much casualties than less, and for the people who are mandated under this act, then they would also leave once their sentence is done, giving they survive with a clean record, and a truly fresh start, knowing they did a seemingly necessary service. Of course, the service is still going on, and to no avail it also hasn't changed. Still, for the sake of pointlessness, there's gotta be at least less uselessness, and I find this circumstantial opportunity to be a little bit of okay maybe in a world full of not okay. It's a hopeful remedy, and I'd like for this hope to be fostered. With everything that goes seemingly wrong in a seemingly meaningless world, can something go seemingly right? With all that's said, in so many ways. I wish I could go on about this. I'm beginning to become quite weary, but I'd like to close with this...

(because I think it sounds cool and I want this to be the focal point of this speech and the standing rock of this petition)
