If the commute between Cairns and the tablelands couldn’t get any more congested, the Cairns Post reported there will now be more work carried out with longer 15 minute delays than already being experienced on the one lane Barron River bridge.
Our council and current Labour representatives of Cairns and Barron River need to press QLD Rail and QLD TMR to get cars off the road and onto affordable train transit. The current excuses of affordability are just not making sense when the Kuranda Scenic Rail mostly runs EMPTY!
At a time like this creating a bottle neck and steady streams of traffic is surely negligent. This creates more weight on the bridge and management of the delays will only make the transit more unsafe!
Time to find the funding for more TRAINs QLD Rail, in an age where our environment is surely our most prized resource, and Byron Bay has solar trains, why is QLD TMR looking the other way?! Why is this not a priority?! It can work for everyone, businesses, tourists and locals.
If things keep going the way they are, the train trip will be faster than the drive on the range?
Imagine a Solar train all the way to the tablelands…. !!!
