The Cairns Post reported on April Fools day that there will be a boost for Kuranda because Queensland Rail are reinstating both trains again.

“Queensland Rail announced in February it was halving its Kuranda services to just one daily trip, leaving Kuranda businesses and tourism operators scrambling to reorganise tour schedules and find ways to get tourists to the village.”

FIND WAYS!  How about a decent locals discount! It is right under your nose! Giving access to locals would mean less cars on the road, and less cars at this event, happening in Kuranda!!!  But instead there will be nowhere to park and people wishing they could relax and catch a train instead of driving down the dangerous range!

Great planning Queensland Rail!  And Queensland Rail’s Executive General Manager Travel and Tourism Martin Ryan, why do you want to thank the community?

“We’d like to thank the community for their patience while these important works were underway and encourage locals to take advantage of the year-round 20 per cent discount these holidays – hop onboard the KSR, enjoy the iconic experience and support business in Kuranda.”

How is a 20% discount, $40 one way, fair for locals??? I leave you with this to ponder.

Have a safe and happy Easter weekend!

Thankyou for your support, please continue to sign, share and write letters to MP Mark Bailey regarding the petition! ✌
