Give Game of Thrones the Ending It Deserves

Give Game of Thrones the Ending It Deserves
The Issue
Created and written by Soham Ghatak — a lifelong fan of Westeros and believer in the power of storytelling done right.
Section 1 – Why We Loved Westeros
Game of Thrones became more than a TV show—it gave us a fully realized realm. From the cold Wall of the North to the ancient forests of the Children, we believed in magic, history, and consequence. We invested in characters, lore, and a promise of depth.
Section 2 – What Went Wrong in Seasons 7 & 8
By Season 7, some core pillars began to crumble. For example: how could the Wall fall so easily when the lore states it is protected by ancient enchantments woven by the Children of the Forest?
In Season 8, that moment became a turning point—what had been earned suddenly felt rushed. The rhythm, the logic, and the careful build-up evaporated, replaced by spectacle rather than substance.
Meanwhile, certain character arcs vanished or shortened: Did we see enough of Arya’s training with the Faceless Men? Was Bran’s path as the Three-Eyed Raven given the resolution it deserved?
Many fans also point to long-running mysteries like Syrio Forel’s fate and the nature of the Faceless Men—leave them half-answered and you lose the magic that kept us hooked. (Yes, the theory that Syrio could be Jaqen H’ghar remains unproven, but it shows how deeply we cared about the internal logic of the world.)
Section 3 – Why It Matters
This isn’t just fan whining—this is about narratives that respect their own rules. When a story builds up centuries of myth and history, trust matters. When trust breaks, so does suspension of belief. A franchise this large deserves to be handled with care and integrity.
Section 4 – What We Ask
We, the undersigned fans and guardians of story integrity, ask that HBO / the creators:
1. Pause any further seasons or related spin-offs until a fully fleshed-out plan is approved by George R. R. Martin to align with the original lore.
2.Re-examine Seasons 7 & 8 as candidate material for a remake or an alternate ending—one that honours the logic established in the books and earlier seasons.
3.Keep the spirit and the rules of Westeros intact—magic must have cost, prophecy must carry weight, and characters must act in line with what they’ve earned.
Section 5 – Join Us
If you believe Westeros deserves more than a rushed finale—if you believe in story over spectacle—sign this petition and share it widely.
Let the makers hear our voices: we want the series to end not just in a blaze of dragons, but in a blaze of brilliance.

Thank you for standing with the realm.
