Give Existing Ultraviolette X47 Owners a Fair Exchange Offer for the X47 Venom

Petition to Ultraviolette: Offer Existing X47 Owners a Fair Exchange Programme for the New X47 Venom
To: The Management of Ultraviolette Automotive
We, the existing owners and supporters of Ultraviolette, respectfully urge the company to introduce a special buyback and exchange programme that allows existing X47 owners to upgrade to the new X47 Venom by paying a fair price difference after reasonable depreciation on their current motorcycles.
Why This Matters to Existing X47 Owners
Many of us purchased the Ultraviolette X47 just a few months ago, driven by our enthusiasm for electric mobility, our confidence in Ultraviolette’s engineering, and our belief in the company’s vision of building futuristic motorcycles for India.
We chose to support Ultraviolette because we believe in its technology, innovation, and ambition to redefine electric motorcycling.
However, the introduction of the significantly upgraded X47 Venom under the new X-100 architecture has left many recent X47 buyers disappointed. The new model brings several important advancements, including:
A new 100V high-voltage architecture, representing a significant technological step forward.
A substantially lower weight of approximately 180 kg, improving practicality and handling.
An improved claimed range of up to 343 km, offering greater riding potential.
A lighter motor and improved vehicle control unit, contributing to the new platform’s engineering improvements.
An upgraded display and enhanced battery safety features, including a pyro-fuse system.
A considerably lower price point, making the upgraded technology more accessible.
Taken together, these changes represent a substantial evolution in the X47 product experience. For customers who purchased the previous model only recently, the timing of this upgrade has created a difficult situation: we committed to the brand in good faith, only to see a considerably more advanced version arrive soon afterward.
We understand that technological progress is essential to Ultraviolette’s growth. We welcome these innovations and are genuinely excited about what the X47 Venom represents. Our request is not to oppose progress, but to ensure that the customers who supported the company early on are not left behind.
Our Concerns About Existing X47 Owners
Beyond the disappointment of missing out on the new technology, existing owners naturally have questions about the long-term ownership experience of the previous X47 model.
We hope Ultraviolette will continue to provide reliable after-sales service, spare parts availability, software support, warranty assistance, and timely resolution of existing product issues.
We recognise that the introduction of a new architecture does not, by itself, mean that support for the earlier model will be discontinued. Nevertheless, clear communication and a visible commitment to existing customers would go a long way toward reassuring owners and preserving their confidence in the brand.
For many of us, this motorcycle represents more than a purchase. It represents our enthusiasm for electric vehicles and our willingness to support an ambitious Indian technology company.
Our Request: A Special X47-to-X47 Venom Exchange Programme
We respectfully request that Ultraviolette consider introducing a one-time, voluntary exchange or buyback scheme for existing X47 owners, with the following features:
- Fair valuation of existing motorcycles: Owners should be offered a transparent valuation based on the motorcycle’s age, kilometres ridden, condition, service history, and applicable depreciation.
- An affordable upgrade path: The assessed value of the existing X47 should be adjusted against the purchase price of the X47 Venom, allowing eligible owners to pay the difference and upgrade.
- A reasonable depreciation policy: Depreciation and any applicable inspection, refurbishment, or administrative charges should be clearly disclosed and applied fairly.
- Priority for recent buyers: Customers who purchased the original X47 shortly before the announcement of the upgraded model could be considered for more favourable exchange terms, subject to a reasonable eligibility window.
- A transparent and convenient process: Ultraviolette could facilitate inspections, valuations, documentation, and exchanges through its authorised dealerships or service network.
- Continued support for existing X47 owners: The company should reaffirm its commitment to spare parts, service, software updates where applicable, warranty obligations, and resolution of reported issues for the original model.
We understand that such a programme would involve logistical, financial, and operational considerations. We are not asking for a free upgrade or an unrealistic guarantee of full purchase-price recovery. We are requesting a practical and commercially reasonable solution that acknowledges the circumstances of customers who purchased the earlier model in good faith.
Even a limited-period exchange window with clearly defined eligibility criteria would be a meaningful step.
A Goodwill Gesture That Can Strengthen Customer Loyalty
Ultraviolette has an opportunity to demonstrate that its relationship with customers extends beyond the initial sale.
A well-designed exchange programme could help the company achieve several positive outcomes:
Strengthen trust among existing customers and early adopters.
Encourage customers to remain within the Ultraviolette ecosystem rather than consider competing brands.
Generate positive word of mouth among EV enthusiasts and prospective buyers.
Demonstrate confidence in its new technology while acknowledging the people who supported its earlier products.
Reinforce Ultraviolette’s reputation as a customer-conscious, forward-looking Indian EV manufacturer.
We believe that customer loyalty is built not only through groundbreaking products but also through the way a company treats the people who believed in it from the beginning.
Our Message to Ultraviolette
Dear Ultraviolette team,
We congratulate you on the launch of the X47 Venom and the engineering progress behind the X-100 architecture. As EV enthusiasts and customers, we are excited to see an Indian company pushing the boundaries of electric motorcycling.
We want to continue being part of this journey. Many of us would genuinely welcome the opportunity to experience the X47 Venom, but purchasing another motorcycle so soon after buying the original X47 may not be financially practical.
A fair, depreciation-based exchange programme would give recent buyers a realistic path to upgrade while allowing Ultraviolette to retain its existing customers and strengthen its community.
We sincerely hope you will consider this request in the positive spirit in which it is made. A thoughtful goodwill initiative today could create lasting loyalty and become an example of how an innovative company can grow alongside the customers who support it.
Let us move forward together. Give existing X47 owners a fair opportunity to upgrade to the X47 Venom.
We request Ultraviolette’s management to consider this proposal and communicate its decision or any alternative support measures for existing X47 owners.
If you are an existing X47 owner, an EV enthusiast, or someone who believes in fair customer treatment, please sign and share this petition to help bring our request to the attention of Ultraviolette’s management.
With hope, respect, and continued faith in the future of electric mobility,
Concerned Ultraviolette X47 Owners and EV Enthusiasts.
