Support Alan's Access to Rehabilitation Programs
Petition to the Georgia Department of Corrections and the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles
We, the undersigned, respectfully request that Alan be given a meaningful opportunity to participate in the Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) program and other rehabilitative classes necessary for his personal growth and successful reentry into society.

Alan has repeatedly expressed his desire to complete MRT and other programs that support rehabilitation and accountability. However, he reports that he has been transferred between facilities and has not been provided consistent access to these important classes. According to Alan, the MRT program is not currently operating at Wheeler Correctional Facility, preventing him from completing programming that may be important to his rehabilitation and parole consideration.

Rehabilitation should be encouraged and supported. When an individual demonstrates a sincere desire to participate in educational and therapeutic programs, every reasonable effort should be made to provide access to those opportunities.

We respectfully request that:

• Alan be given timely access to MRT and other available rehabilitative programs.

• If these programs are unavailable at his current facility, he be considered for placement at a facility where they are actively offered.

• His continued efforts to improve himself and participate in rehabilitation be recognized and considered during any parole review.

This petition is not intended to minimize accountability. Rather, it seeks to support rehabilitation, personal growth, family reunification, and successful reintegration into the community.

We believe that individuals who are committed to positive change should have access to the tools and programs necessary to achieve that goal.

By signing this petition, we respectfully ask the Georgia Department of Corrections and the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles to ensure that Alan is given a fair opportunity to complete the rehabilitative programming he has requested.
