These checks do not reach everyone, I understand that. These checks have reached 61 million families. Money means something different for each of us: food security, housing security, medical appointments, or general peace of mind to name a few. 

We are being told that these monthly checks, through the expanded Child Tax Credit, is one of the most effective means of fighting child poverty. That is huge! Congress has included a one-year extension + permanent full refundability and eligibility restoration to DREAMers in the final bill. But, the bill is being stalled so we are unsure if this expansion will continue. Next week, I will let you know what we can do to help get this bill passed so that these monthly checks keep going. 

Non-filers are those who are not required to file a 2020 tax return, didn’t file one, and don’t plan to — if this applies to you, sign up now for the  Child Tax Credit payments! November 15th, 4 days from now is the deadline. Also, pass this link on to someone you know who doesn’t file taxes and doesn’t know that they can still receive these benefits!
