Good News! It looks like the federal government is on track to start sending the up-to-$300 monthly checks for each child (“expanded Child Tax Credit”) this July! Call your Congressperson today and tell them to stay on top of this to make sure those checks begin to arrive as soon as possible.

For many of us, this amount of money is very impactful, because it is monthly and predictable. Let’s be sure our Congresspeople hear how July can’t come soon enough and how important these benefits are.

Relief for families MUST be a priority. Monthly checks help families make ends meet, boost state and local economies, and shorten the length of the recession. While the child tax credit has been around for awhile, the expanded child tax credit is very different. It supports families by delivering a monthly payment directly into parents’ bank accounts, instead of as a credit at the end of the year.
