Awareness for Senior Class of 2021 Graduation

The Issue

A year ago today, on March 13, 2020, was the last day we saw our classmates and staff. We said goodbye to people that we have grown up with in our small community without knowing what was coming. The Class of 2021 deserves a graduation whether that may be in person socially distanced or a drive by sit in parade. We have understood the guidelines and have stood by in hopes that things will turn around for us but we are simply tired of waiting until the last minute. Imagine how it feels as a senior, watching sports begin practicing while disregarding the mental toll that all of the seniors have been experiencing, not just the athletes. All of our hard work the last four years were in hopes to get to be a senior and experience all the activities that were unrightfully taken away. Following the tragedies such as summer 2019, followed by an unexpected pandemic, world riots, a controversial election and so much more, the seniors could use a bit of hope and support from our community. We have already been told to accept so much and all we are asking for is to be able to receive our diploma surrounded by the people we only got to see for 2.5 years before going our separate ways. We understand that the circumstances and procedure to achieve this graduation will be tedious however with the help of us and hopefully members of the community we will be able to make this possible.
