Finally trying to get justice to save a man that was let down by the system as a child!!!

Finally trying to get justice to save a man that was let down by the system as a child!!!
The Issue
Steven was merely a child when he received a 23-year sentence from the Arizona Department of Corrections.
As a child, he endured abuse at the hands of both parents and was coerced by his mother into murdering his father. Brainwashed into compliance, he acted to protect his family.
Throughout his childhood, Steven's drug-addicted, abusive parents involved him in drug runs to Mexico. As he grew, his father, intent on training him for violence, was found with numerous weapons and explosives, planning to use them against the police and government.
Steven suffered frequent stabbings and violent attacks from his father. The extent of his abuse is unimaginable.
The day in question Steven had just been realised from hospital due to another attack on him by his father, where he was kicked so hard in the groin it left him unable to urinate for over a week. His mother explained to Steven if they didn't kill him, he was going to kill them.
Unbeknownst to Steven, his mother's insistence on his father's death was driven by ulterior motives, including an affair and the pursuit of life insurance.
Faced with a plea deal and the threat of the death penalty, Steven, a frightened child, accepted it, forfeiting the chance to share his story and history of abuse in court. So despite being only 15, Steven was sentenced as an adult. He has now served over 13 years of his 23 year sentence, and we are seeking a reduction.
Steven acknowledges his actions and the pain they have caused. He was failed not only by his parents but also by the police, child services, and the government.
The abuse within his family was known, yet overlooked by all. His father's frequent legal troubles, including assaults on law enforcement, made their family name notorious locally.
Prison, paradoxically, offered Steven a path to freedom, shaping him into the remarkable man I am proud to call my husband. He has paid his debt to society, and his only wish has been for a loving family, which he now has with myself.
A documentary by Investigation Discovery has since highlighted the abuse, acknowledged by the police. Following its release and the support it garnered, we are applying for clemency to reduce his sentence.
Steven's desire for a loving family, which he now enjoys, is the foundation of our plea for sentence reduction, allowing him to begin the life he was previously denied.
